Insuficiencia hepática fulminante

RESUMEN

Pocas enfermedades en la medicina son tan dramáticas y devastadoras que la insuficiencia hepática fulminante. Alteraciones agudas en la función celular pueden llevar a necrosis masiva de los hepatocitos y la pérdida de esta función puede ocasionar una respuesta multiorgánica e inclusive la muerte aun cuando el hígado comienza a recuperarse. Este artículo revisa los principales avances y entendimiento en la fisiología y manejo de esta condición.
