Osteoblastoma maxilar. Reporte de un caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN
El osteoblastoma es un tumor óseo benigno, raro y de lento crecimiento. Normalmente se presenta en la columna vertebral y en los huesos largos. Aproximadamente el 15% de los osteoblastomas se presentan en el esqueleto maxilofacial y tienen predilección por los adultos jóvenes (media de edad 22.45 años) con predominio en la mandíbula (71.6%). Es importante realizar diagnóstico diferencial con osteoma osteoide, cementoblastoma, displasia fibrosa agresiva, fibroma osificante y osteosarcoma, debido a que el comportamiento clínico, radiológico y variables histológicas tienen similitud. En este trabajo se presenta un paciente con osteoblastoma maxilar de comportamiento agresivo en el que se realizó maxilectomía parcial y un análisis de los casos ya reportados.
