El papel del arte como protector de las funciones cerebrales. La música, la pintura y la escritura facilitan la capacidad de reserva cerebral

RESUMEN
El arte en sus diversas formas es un producto del cerebro humano que evolutivamente ha desarrollado sus vías neuronales
específicas. Éstas parecen más resistentes a patologías cerebrales vasculares, traumáticas y neurodegenerativas tales como la
enfermedad de Alzheimer y demencias relacionadas. Así como la educación, el bilingualismo, los estilos sanos de vida y el trabajo
intelectual son todos inductores de reserva cognitiva cerebral, proponemos que manifestaciones de arte tales como música,
pintura y escritura literaria son también importantes constructores de reserva cognitiva.
