Feto acárdico: la malformación más grave en humanos

RESUMEN
Las gestaciones gemelares pueden presentar múltiples complicaciones,
la más severa de ellas es el feto acárdico. Se cree que
las anastomosis vasculares anormales en la placenta causan la
involución principalmente cefálica de uno de los gemelos, el cual
es siempre inviable. En el presente artículo reportamos un caso
de gemelo acárdico con evidente anastomosis entre los gemelos,
ocurrida en el cordón umbilical. Revisamos la bibliografía de la
malformación más grave en humanos.
