Hace algunos semanas durante el desayuno con un
grupo de amigos el tema de la conversación fue sobre el
riesgo que constituye la ropa médica (la bata y la corbata
en particular, y por supuesto el estetoscopio) como elemento
vector de infecciones nosocomiales (IN). Esta discusión
condujo al análisis de la evidencia científica en las
vertientes de la presencia de las IN con su impacto en la
salud y vida del paciente, el aumento consecuente de los
costos de atención médica y las demandas contra la práctica
médica.
