Impacto de la tuberculosis pulmonar en la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Un estudio de casos y controles

RESUMEN
Se llevó a cabo un estudio de casos y controles prospectivo que
incluyó a 72 pacientes con diagnóstico de tuberculosis pulmonar
recurrente (TB) confirmada bacteriológicamente y a 201
controles sanos que acudieron a un hospital de tercer nivel. Se
utilizó el cuestionario de calidad de vida relacionada a la salud
SF-12 (versión reducida del Cuestionario de Salud SF-36)
para evaluar la calidad de vida (QoL) de los pacientes al inicio
del tratamiento acortado estrictamente supervisado (TAES).
Los pacientes con TB tuvieron puntajes significativamente
menores que los controles para la calidad de vida global (51.1
±DE 22.6) versus 75.9 (±DE 17.6), p ‹ 0.0001. Los dominios
más afectados fueron el físico y el psicológico. Estos resultados
muestran que los pacientes con TB activa tienen dificultades
en la realización de las actividades diarias y alteraciones en
el estado psicológico.
