“La pandemia de gripe inquieta a Washington”. Así titula la Revista Science una breve nota el 14 de octubre pasado, en ella informa de la agitación en la actividad política de la Casa Blanca ante el reporte de una epidemia de aves acuáticas en Rumania, pues las pruebas inmunológicas hacen sospechar que se trata de influenza; casi al mismo tiempo ocurrió en Turquía la muerte de 1,700 pavos por un virus H5: en ambos casos el diagnóstico definitivo está en proceso.
