Introducción
A pesar de los avances considerables en nuestra comprensión de la adicción, la tecnología y los enfoques terapéuticos usados en contra de esta enfermedad, todavía sigue siendo un problema importante en el ambiente de trabajo en anestesiología y los resultados no han cambiado significativamente. Los anestesiólogos tienen significativamente una tasa más alta de abuso de sustancias de 2.7-1 en comparación con otros médicos. Se ha demostrado que existe una asociación importante entre la dependencia química y la psicopatología; si esta última no es tratada, el éxito de rehabilitación es menor.
