Manejo del dolor en cáncer

RESUMEN
En este trabajo se revisan los aspectos fundamentales para tratar el dolor en el paciente con cáncer, después de serias consideraciones fisiopatológicas, epidemiológicas y clínicas, por lo que se plantean diversas alternativas de manejo para controlar el dolor por cáncer. No cabe duda que las organizaciones que se relacionan con la medicina mundial (OMS), han participado activamente dictando recomendaciones y planes de manejo para el control del dolor. Las opciones farmacológicas basadas en la Escalera Analgésica para el control del dolor, las diferentes consideraciones médicas cuando se ha decidido un manejo intervencionista y las diferentes opciones de manejo invasivo para el control del dolor han sido planteadas en este documento. Es de esta manera como se podrá hacer frente a un problema de salud en nuestro país y los síntomas que afectan tan severamente al paciente, su familia y a las instituciones.
