FRAGMENTO
El cáncer cervicouterino constituye un problema de salud pública en México porque es un área geográfica de alto riesgo de enfermedad, comparada con los países industrializados que cuentan con programas organizados y eficientes de prevención y control, los que han logrado abatir su coexistencia. A pesar de que la frecuencia del cáncer cervicouterino, en términos de incidencia y mortalidad, ha disminuido en México durante los últimos 20 años, persiste como un tema de política pública inconclusa, pendiente de resolver, y con necesidad de solventar diversos rezagos.
