Nuevas tendencias para la cementación de postes

RESUMEN
A lo largo de la historia hemos restaurado órganos dentales con gran destrucción de su estructura, empleando diferentes materiales y métodos, siendo como primera opción la utilización de pernos o postes intrarradiculares, adheridos al tejido dentinario, utilizando algún agente cementante.
Es importante destacar que para cada caso en particular aplica diferente técnica o método, al igual que los materiales a colocar; deberá ser obligación del clínico estudiar y seleccionar la forma en que se llevará a cabo cada restauración. Afortunadamente, gracias al desarrollo de los biomateriales, en la actualidad tenemos una gran gama de materiales y técnicas que pueden proporcionar resultados aceptables a largo plazo.
Así como han evolucionado los materiales de los postes, al igual lo han hecho los agentes cementantes, hasta llegar actualmente a los cementos de uso más común, como los ionómeros de vidrio, los ionómeros de vidrio modificados con resina y las resinas.
Con el constante avance de la ciencia dentro de la operatoria dental, los procedimientos de cementación son de suma importancia, dado que en tiempos modernos existen cambios drásticos que repercuten en la práctica diaria, como sería el desuso de la técnica de grabado total, así como el auge de los agentes cementantes autoadhesivos en la técnica de adhesión.
En el presente artículo se describirán las nuevas tendencias de cementación de postes intrarradiculares, utilizando cementos resinosos autoadhesivos, para cualquier tipo de material del poste, ya sea directo o indirecto. Como caso clínico se describirá la técnica de cementación con postes de fibra de vidrio, los cuales son los más utilizados actualmente.
