RESUMEN

La frecuencia de acardia fetal en el mundo es de 1:35,000 a 1:48,000 embarazos. Se calcula que 1% de los recién nacidos en países desarrollados son producto de técnicas de reproducción asistida y la frecuencia de embarazos gemelares es cercana a 18%, de éstos, se calcula un riesgo relativo para defecto cardiaco de 1.6. Sin embargo, la relación de acardia fetal o embarazo gemelar y técnicas de reproducción asistida no está totalmente establecida. En este artículo se describe un caso de acardia fetal en un embarazo producto de reproducción asistida y su atención obstétrica.
