La medicina complementaria en el mundo

RESUMEN
A la Medicina Complementaria anteriormente llamada alternativa (MC) que comprende intervenciones terapéuticas como la Acupuntura, la Herbolaria, la Homeopatía, la Quiropráctica y la Medicina Corporomental, se le ha concedido un creciente interés en la literatura médica internacional debido a los reportes sobre el incremento de su uso, así como por la acumulación de datos acerca de sus posibles efectos benéficos. Aunque se agrupan bajo un solo concepto como Medicina Complementaria, entre ellas existen diferencias tanto filosóficas como teóricas; unas han sido mucho más investigadas en estudios clínicos controlados que otras. Para algunos autores varias de estas terapias podrían integrarse a la práctica convencional de la medicina. Esto constituye así un nuevo paradigma de la medicina.
