La tecnología láser en las últimas dos décadas ha sido una aliada incondicional del dermatólogo en el enfoque terapéutico de ciertas alteraciones cutáneas que antaño carecieron de un tratamiento eficaz y/o seguro, como por ejemplo, el nevus de Ota, tatuajes, hirsutismo y las secuelas cicatriciales del acné. Hoy en día es posible tratar estos tres cuadros y muchas otras dermatosis, de una manera más o menos eficaz y con un perfil de seguridad adecuado, siempre y cuando se siga un protocolo y, sobre todo, el profesional cuente con la debida preparación y experiencia.
