Etiología y fisiopatología de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2

RESUMEN
Hasta la fecha, los investigadores clínicos consideran que la etiología de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 es desconocida. Sin embargo, hallazgos de autopsia y observaciones neuroquirúrgicos sugieren que esta enfermedad es un desorden del hipotálamo anterior y del páncreas endocrino, causado por isquemia progresiva. De esta manera, provocan tres defectos: primarios: obesidad, resistencia a la insulina y secreción inapropiada de insulina. Por consiguiente, en mi opinión, estas zonas isquémicas deben de ser revascularizadas por medio del epiplón: 1) transposición de epiplón sobre el páncreas y 2) trasplante de epiplón sobre el quiasma óptico y la bifurcación carotídea.
