Docencia en medicina basada en la evidencia (MBE): estrategias y herramientas de evaluación

RESUMEN
Objetivo: Revisar experiencias docentes en Medicina Basada en Evidencias (MBE) dirigidas a profesionales sanitarios, tratando de identificar aquellas que se relacionan con un incremento de los conocimientos, habilidades, actitudes y comportamientos en MBE.
Material y Métodos: Estudio descriptivo y transversal. Revisión bibliográfica de experiencias docentes sobre MBE en profesionales sanitarios. Las bases de datos consultadas fueron MEDLINE, EMBASE y la Librería Cochrane desde 1966 a 2007.
Resultados: Fueron seleccionados 30 trabajos, 14 revisiones sistemáticas y 16 estudios que incluían la validación de una herramienta de evaluación. Las intervenciones educativas analizadas mejoran los conocimientos en MBE y las actitudes hacia el uso de la literatura médica en la toma de decisiones sin que se evidencie modificación al uso de este paradigma en la práctica clínica ni si los cambios apreciados se traducen en mejora de los resultados en salud. De los 16 instrumentos de medida en nueve se describió de forma detallada y completa el proceso de validación.
Conclusiones: La pobre calidad metodológica de los estudios unido a la heterogeneidad de las estrategias educacionales llevadas a cabo dificulta la toma de decisiones al planificar una actividad docente sobre MBE. Fueron escasos los instrumentos de evaluación adecuadamente validados presentes en la literatura; la utilización de dichas herramientas, tras su adaptación transcultural, permitiría evaluar de forma más correcta la efectividad de la docencia.
