Infecciones por metapneumovirus humano en pacientes pediátricos

RESUMEN
Con base en una revisión reciente de la literatura, el presente trabajo ofrece una aproximación al tema de las infecciones por metapneumovirus humano en pacientes pediátricos. Explica de manera sucinta los aspectos epidemiológicos de este agente y los mecanismos fisiopatológicos que intervienen en el desarrollo de la infección, así como las manifestaciones clínicas de la enfermedad. Además, se mencionan las herramientas con las que se cuenta actualmente para su diagnóstico y hace una revisión del tratamiento y de las medidas más adecuadas desde el punto de vista preventivo.
