Uso de prótesis después de resección de tumor de células gigantes en rodilla

RESUMEN

Objetivo: Demostrar la eficacia del uso de prótesis tumoral en la resección del tumor de células gigantes en tibia proximal en rodilla y la recuperación de la funcionalidad de la misma. Material y métodos: Reporte de un caso clínico observacional retrospectivo de paciente masculino de 36 años con antecedentes de artrodesis de la rodilla izquierda en 1996 secundario a resección de tumor de células gigantes de fémur distal con recidiva del mismo en 2004 y aparición de nódulo pulmonar solitario tumoral; se realizó resección amplia de fémur y tibia artrodesada y colocación de prótesis tumoral. Resultados: Paciente cursa con 20 meses de evolución postoperatoria con remisión de nódulo pulmonar, función de rodilla con flexión pasiva de 120 grados y extensión total, marcha sin limitaciones, libre de dolor escala funcional de rodilla según Sociedad de Tumores Musculoesqueléticos de 28 y escala de Sociedad de Rodilla de 95. Conclusiones: La resección de la zona de artrodesis y tumor de células gigantes logró doble objetivo, erradicar el tumor y recuperar la movilidad de la rodilla después de 10 años de artrodesis con gran satisfacción del paciente y retorno a sus actividades.
