RESUMEN
Las complicaciones derivadas de las infecciones por micoplasma incluyen desórdenes hematopoyéticos, cardiovasculares, del sistema nervioso central, musculoesqueléticos y gastrointestinales. El papel de los micoplasmas urogenitales, como es el caso de
Mycoplasma hominis y
Ureaplasma urealyticum, es polémico, pero pueden incluir infecciones del tracto genitourinario y durante el embarazo, como pulmonía y meningitis del neonato.
Ureaplasma urealyticum, un comensal común del tracto urogenital humano, está ganando reconocimiento como un patógeno oportunista importante durante el embarazo.
Mycoplasma hominis es susceptible a linezolid y evermicina, pero resistente a macrólidos y telitromicina. Por su parte,
Ureaplasma urealyticum muestra susceptibilidad a evermicina y resistencia a linezolid.
