Abordaje transparotídeo para el tratamiento quirúrgico de las fracturas subcondíleas en el Hospital General de Xoco

RESUMEN
Frente a la gran diversidad de abordajes para el tratamiento de las fracturas subcondíleas y los diferentes criterios para el manejo de éstas, el presente artículo tiene como finalidad hacer mención, dependiendo de su localización anatómica y su desplazamiento, de un abordaje menos complejo y que nos dé un mejor acceso a nuestro campo quirúrgico y facilidad de reducción de los fragmentos óseos. De acuerdo a las técnicas quirúrgicas regularmente utilizadas para las fracturas subcondíleas, las complicaciones con mayor incidencia son: daño del nervio facial, maloclusión y edema postquirúrgico. Por esta razón, recomendamos la técnica de abordaje transparotídeo como una alternativa para la reducción y fijación de las fracturas subcondíleas, la cual, basada en los excelentes resultados, es más segura y fácil de realizar.
