Regeneración ósea guiada simultánea a la colocación de implantes: Presentación de un caso clínico

RESUMEN
El procedimiento de regeneración ósea guiada (ROG) ha demostrado ser una
técnica exitosa para promover el llenado de defectos óseos presentes alrededor
de implantes dentales, así como para aumentar las dimensiones de rebordes
alveolares atróficos previo a la colocación de implantes. En situaciones donde
las dimensiones del hueso alveolar son menores o iguales a las del implante,
la colocación de éste no es posible, o puede presentar superficies expuestas,
irritación del tejido blando y disminución del contacto hueso-implante. Para
que el implante presente un buen pronóstico se ha sugerido por lo menos la
presencia de 1 mm de soporte óseo en su cara lingual o palatina y vestibular.
En este artículo se describe la técnica de colocación de implantes junto con
procedimientos de regeneración ósea guiada en sitios posextracción.
