Estudio piloto de dos Programas de Rehabilitación tras artroplastia de rodilla

RESUMEN
Introducción: La artroplastia de rodilla es una de las técnicas quirúrgicas más utilizadas actualmente. La rehabilitación tras esta cirugía es fundamental para el éxito de la misma aunque, en ocasiones, la enorme presión asistencial que soportan los servicios de rehabilitación españoles demora su inicio. Por esto nos hemos planteado comparar 2 programas de tratamiento: individual versus grupal con la hipótesis de que el tratamiento grupal es más efectivo.
Material y métodos: Se ha realizado un estudio de intervención en 53 pacientes intervenidos en nuestro hospital (artroplastia de rodilla indicada por artrosis): Tras la cirugía, 16 pacientes han recibido tratamiento rehabilitador individual y 37 pacientes tratamiento grupal. Los pacientes han sido evaluados entre las 2-5 semanas tras la cirugía y a los 2 meses de la primera evaluación. Las variables recogidas han sido: sexo, edad, peso, talla, grado de gonartrosis, dolor, balance articular, balance muscular, atrofia muscular de cuadriceps, índice de Lequesne y una variable de «éxito» de tratamiento definida por nosotros.
Resultados y
conclusiones: Tras el análisis estadístico podemos afirmar que, a pesar del mayor éxito con el tratamiento individual, no podemos contestar a la hipótesis planteada debido al insuficiente tamaño muestral de nuestro estudio.
