RESUMEN

Bankart nació en 1879, hijo de James Bankart, cirujano de la ciudad de Exeter, Inglaterra; se tituló como médico en el año de 1906, fue aceptado como miembro del Colegio Real de Cirujanos en 1909 y un año después recibió el grado de Maestría en Cirugía por la Universidad de Cambridge.
