INTRODUCCIÓN

La estabilidad de la rodilla requiere del funcionamiento adecuado de cuatro ligamentos o estabilizadores primarios: Ligamento cruzado anterior (LCA), cruzado posterior (LCP), colateral medial (LCM) y colateral lateral (LCL), así como de otros estabilizadores secundarios o accesorios de rodilla: los meniscos, la banda iliotibial y el bíceps femoral, los cuales son elementos compensadores de la estabilidad que resultan muy importantes cuando los estabilizadores primarios se encuentran lesionados.
