INTRODUCCIÓN
Al igual que en los adultos, en el niño el ejercicio físico es uno de los factores fundamentales para alcanzar y mantener un buen estado físico y psíquico, postulado del cual se derivan tres interrogantes: ¿Cuándo?, ¿cómo?, ¿cuánto? y después: ¿Las respuestas a esas preguntas son iguales o, al menos, proporcionales a las que se pueden dar para el adulto?
Se sabe que el niño no es un adulto en pequeño y que ni siquiera admite una comparación o un tratamiento según escala o proporción. El niño es un organismo con particularidades anatómicas, fisiológicas y psicológicas y en función de ellas hay que actuar cuando se pretende hacer bueno el postulado que encabeza este capítulo.
