Síndrome de Eagle: reporte de un caso

RESUMEN
El síndrome de Eagle, también llamado estilalgia, es una entidad raramente identificada clínica y anatomopatológicamente, descrito por primera vez por W.W. Eagle en 1937. El síndrome de Eagle es definido como elongación del proceso estiloideo y/o osificación del ligamento estiloideo. En el caso reportado, se trata de paciente de 48 años de edad, con los síntomas clínicos de síndrome de Eagle; se observa con los estudios de imagenología, elongación del proceso estiloideo. Los síntomas se resolvieron realizando la amputación del proceso elongado, con abordaje extraoral, con evolución favorable a tratamiento quirúrgico en sus controles postoperatorios, sin datos de sintomatología dolorosa.
