CAMBIOS EN LA REANIMACIÓN CARDIOPULMONAR
La reanimación por rescatadores potenciales. Ante la situación inesperada de un niño que precisa reanimación hay dos posibilidades, en el mejor de los casos, que alguien cercano al niño inconsciente sepa y esté dispuesto a dar ventilaciones correctamente: 30 compresiones por 2 ventilaciones en 5 ciclos (2 minutos), lo que se recomienda para todas las edades. En el caso opuesto (que no tenga ningún adiestramiento en RCP) lo deseable es que al menos sepa que debe dar compresiones torácicas a razón de 100/min por dos veces, es decir: 200 compresiones en 2 minutos antes de pedir ayuda por teléfono. En caso que ya haya pedido ayuda a alguien para que llame a una ambulancia o que pida ayuda, no debe abandonar al niño y valorar su situación cardiorrespiratoria después de los 2 primeros minutos con RCP.
