RESUMEN
La obesidad infantil se ha convertido en un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial y en la actualidad se considera una epidemia global. Su prevalencia continúa aumentando, siendo la enfermedad más frecuente en niños y adolescentes en países desarrollados. No es un problema estético, sino una enfermedad compleja que desencadena enfermedades cronicodegenerativas, que sólo veíamos en adultos. Nuestro país se ha convertido en el 2° lugar a nivel mundial de obesidad infantil. Es necesario tener más revisiones sistemáticas para causar impacto en profesionales de la salud y poder hacer intervenciones tempranas más efectivas.
