RESUMEN
Esta revisión explora la aplicación de dos modelos de análisis de composición corporal en niños. La validez del BOD, POD, DXA y del método de dilución con deuterio para estimar la grasa corporal y la masa libre contra el modelo de cuatro compartimentos es analizado. Estas técnicas están disponibles en algunas universidades e institutos de investigación en México. Hay que tener precaución particularmente cuando el DXA y BOD POD son usados como “prueba de oro” en estudios clínicos. La aplicación de testas metodologías requiere una apropiada validación en niños mexicanos
