RESUMEN
Uno de los propósitos en odontología restauradora, es hacer restauraciones dentales que puedan durar muchos más años en servicio. La frecuencia del reemplazo de restauraciones, es un problema aún no resuelto y la presencia de caries secundaria es uno de los factores más comúnmente asociados con este problema. La utilización de materiales dentales con desprendimiento de fluoruro puede ayudar a mitigar la reincidencia de caries y hacer que las restauraciones permanezcan en uso por más tiempo.
