Carcinoma seroso micropapilar invasor. Informe de un caso bilateral de ovario

RESUMEN
La terminología y el concepto de tumor seroso limítrofe o borderline de ovario es un tema muy controvertido en los últimos años en el campo de la patología quirúrgica. Hace poco se introdujo el término “carcinoma seroso micropapilar” para definir un subtipo de tumores serosos cuya característica sobresaliente es un patrón micropapilar que clínicamente se relaciona con un comportamiento más agresivo que los tumores serosos limítrofes clásicos porque tienen un índice de invasión, recurrencia e implantación tumoral extraovárica más elevado. La mayor parte de estos están incorporados dentro de los tumores limítrofes serosos del ovario, que son los verdaderamente invasores, infrecuentes y con curso clínico más agresivo. Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 52 años de edad con carcinoma micropapilar seroso invasor bilateral del ovario.
