Pseudoxantoma elástico, revisión bibliográfica a propósito de un caso

RESUMEN

Propósito: Informar un caso de pseudoxantoma elástico asociado a glaucoma crónico de ángulo cerrado.
Métodos: Reporte de caso y revisión de la literatura.
Resultados: Se describen las consecuencias clínicas por la alteración en las fibras elásticas en el paciente con pseudoxantoma elástico y su impacto en la calidad y expectativa de vida.
Conclusiones: No existe información que permita establecer una relación causal entre el pseudoxantoma elástico con el glaucoma crónico de ángulo cerrado, por lo que deben documentarse otros casos para considerar la existencia de esta asociación. Es importante conocer la amplia gama de alteraciones que puede provocar esta entidad para lograr un abordaje integral.
