Guía basada en evidencias para el diagnóstico de infarto isquémico cerebral en los niños debutantes

RESUMEN
Objetivo. Construir y validar una guía de diagnóstico basada en evidencias, aplicable a niños que debutan con déficit neurológico súbito secundario a infarto cerebral isquémico.
Desenlace. La guía desarrollada orienta al clínico acerca de la secuencia de estudios que se sugiere efectuar, de acuerdo con las causas generadoras de infarto en niños.
Evidencia. En base a una revisión de la literatura (1998 a 2007) obtenida de la base de datos Medline y Ovid, con preguntas sobre el tema, se clasificó el nivel de evidencia y el grado de recomendación de los incisos de la guía sugerida según la causa.
Consenso. Un grupo seleccionado de clínicos expertos evaluaron la pertinencia de los estudios recomendados en la guía, se les entregaron las publicaciones relevantes y se les solicitó calificar cada paso de la guía de acuerdo a la escala de Likert, pertinencia de los estudios indicados en la guía. El consenso se consideró como tal cuando 80% de los expertos aceptó cada uno de los pasos de la guía y la secuencia de éstos.
