SÍNDROME DE LA ARTERIA ESPINAL ANTERIOR
Definición y antecedentes
Es un síndrome neurológico raro, propiciado por la oclusión de la arteria espinal anterior, casi siempre en el área toracolumbar inferior. Es más frecuente observarlo en la población mayor con aterosclerosis, se relaciona con cirugía reconstructiva de la aorta, hipotensión importante en presencia de anestesia regional, en pacientes más jóvenes con enfermedades vasculares y se ha asociado con el uso de soluciones anestésicas que contienen vasoconstrictores.
La paciente embarazada es uno de los grupos más grandes que reciben anestesia regional, también es un grupo de pacientes más sanos y del que menos se desea resultados adversos.
