Peritonitis relacionada con diálisis peritoneal

RESUMEN
La peritonitis relacionada con catéter de diálisis peritoneal es una de las complicaciones más frecuentes en los pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica terminal en nuestro medio. Es un proceso que merece diagnóstico oportuno y tratamiento orientado al problema infeccioso y a tratar de conservar la cavidad peritoneal. Este artículo se refiere a la importancia del diagnóstico, tratamiento, complicaciones y métodos de prevención para evitar la peritonitis relacionada con diálisis peritoneal.
