RESUMEN
En nuestro país, las infecciones del tracto urinario (UTIs) son las más comunes. Los grupos etarios más afectados son los niños, las mujeres sexualmente activas, embarazadas y adultos mayores. El agente causal más frecuente es
Escherichia coli y presenta cambios en sus perfiles de sensibilidad y resistencia. Se realizó un estudio multicéntrico en la ciudad de México de cepas de
Escherichia coli, aisladas de orina de pacientes con diagnóstico de infección aguda de vías urinarias bajas.
