Experiencia en el tratamiento de lesiones condrales de rodilla en futbolistas profesionales. Revisión de 34 casos

RESUMEN
Objetivo: Evaluar los resultados de la condroplastía tipo Pridie como un método eficaz que permite la reintegración rápida del futbolista profesional a sus actividades y compararlo con resultados obtenidos con otras técnicas actuales de reparación de cartílago.
Material y métodos: Se incluyeron futbolistas profesionales operados artroscópicamente de marzo de 1999 a diciembre de 2004 con condroplastía tipo Pridie sin importar la edad, aun con lesiones meniscales grado I, se excluyeron los que presentaron lesiones meniscales complejas, así como los que presentaban inestabilidad articular. Diferimos el apoyo por 6 a 8 semanas. Iniciamos la rehabilitación al 4°-5° día postoperatorio. El seguimiento promedio fue de 30 meses.
Resultados: Se incluyeron 34 pacientes, rangos de edad 19-31 años (promedio 24.6), 11 de ellos con lesión meniscal grado I asociada con lesión condral. En 26 pacientes (76.47%) los resultados fueron buenos, permitiéndoles retomar su actividad deportiva de alto rendimiento. El resto (23.53%) tuvieron resultados regulares o malos con decremento en el nivel de juego, 4 de los cuales (11%) se retiraron de la práctica profesional provocados por las lesiones encontradas.
Conclusiones: El tiempo de seguimiento nos da una buena validación de que la técnica empleada es un tratamiento de bajo costo, quirúrgicamente simple con resultados favorables y de baja morbilidad y comparables a los resultados obtenidos con otras técnicas de reparación condral útiles en el futbolista profesional.
