Tuberculosis vertebral múltiple. Reporte de un caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN
Cada año en el mundo se reportan 8 millones de casos nuevos de tuberculosis. Veinte millones están activos y un tercio de la población mundial ha tenido contacto con el bacilo tuberculoso. La tuberculosis vertebral representa el 50% de la osteoarticular. Es la región de la columna torácica la más afectada, le sigue la lumbar y la cervical. Los datos clínicos más frecuentes son: xifosis, deformidades óseas y paraplejía; cuando el cuerpo vertebral está involucrado, en especial en los niños existe importante inestabilidad, desplazamientos, compresión medular o radicular y abscesos oscifluentes con tendencia a diseminarse a las estructuras vecinas. Lo común es que sean dos vértebras vecinas las afectadas, presentamos el caso clínico de paciente femenina adulta, con compromiso múltiple y diseminación a psoas y ambas regiones inguinales así como a muslos. Recibió tratamiento médico quirúrgico con adecuada respuesta clínica.
