FRAGMENTO
La anestesiología es una de las especialidades médicas que ha tenido una evolución realmente importante en los últimos dos siglos, a pesar de que el conocimiento y empleo de algunos métodos empíricos para tratar al dolor, producir inconciencia se llevaban a cabo en diversas épocas y culturas de la humanidad.
La importancia de los trabajos de Horace Wells, sirvieron para marcar un precedente en la práctica de la anestesiología como una especialidad médica, donde el objetivo primordial era la desaparición del dolor y generar inconciencia durante eventos quirúrgicos.
