RESUMEN
El rubulavirus porcino es responsable de la enfermedad del ojo azul de los cerdos,
la cual se caracteriza por signos nerviosos, opacidad de la cornea y alta mortalidad
en cerdos lactantes. Las alteraciones reproductivas en sementales incluyen epididimitis
y atrofia testicular. Desde que se le identificó por primera vez, a principio
de la década de los ochenta del siglo pasado, se ha logrado un avance
importante en el conocimiento de las características moleculares del
virus, las propiedades patológicas, biológicas e inmunológicas
de la enfermedad. Esta revisión presenta avances de la respuesta inmune
humoral y celular al rubulavirus porcino, discute la importancia de los anticuerpos
en el control de la infección y la inmunogenicidad de la Hemaglutinina-Neuraminidasa
(HN); además, describe el papel de los linfocitos CD4+CD8- en la respuesta
aguda y la de los linfocitos CD4+CD8+ en la respuesta de memoria.
