Consenso de la Asociación Mexicana de Infectología Pediátrica (AMIP): sobre el impacto de la vacunación en la disminución de la carga de enfermedad neumocócica en México, 2024

RESUMEN
Introducción: la enfermedad neumocócica continúa siendo una de las principales preocupaciones en la salud pública mundial, la incidencia de la enfermedad invasiva es documentada principalmente en menores de dos y mayores de 65 años, y la vacunación ha sido la mejor estrategia para reducir su impacto.
Material y métodos: mediante el modelo de consenso académico, se recopiló y analizó la bibliografía científica disponible sobre los temas considerados de actualidad o controversiales. Se siguió la recomendación de la guía Lineamientos para la elaboración de consensos y las recomendaciones y criterios útiles para la lectura crítica de los artículos seleccionados de la iniciativa europea AGREE, las recomendaciones generadas son presentadas bajo la escala GRADE. Se integraron equipos mixtos y representativos en los que participaron pediatras infectólogos agremiados a la AMIP. Los estudios y manuscritos utilizados para esta revisión fueron seleccionados usando las palabras clave: "Streptococcus pneumoniae", y sus variables "vaccine", "epidemiology", "safety and eficaccy in vaccine", "compliance vaccine", entre otras; se utilizaron los motores de búsqueda, PubMed, Google Scholar, EMBASE, Cochrane, así como del apoyo de bibliotecas virtuales de las Universidades de Oxford, Harvard y Tecnológico de Monterrey. Se seleccionaron artículos dando prioridad aquéllos publicados de enero de 2019 a agosto del 2024, se incluyeron reportes más antiguos, para marco de referencia o por ser la información más sólida disponible; se trabajó en una reunión presencial y dos virtuales, además de revisión de los textos generados por dos revisores externos al grupo de consenso.
Resultados: se planteó un total de diez temas relevantes y/o controvertidos, a los que se les realizó un análisis crítico de acuerdo con la evidencia encontrada en la literatura incluida y los resultados de la revisión crítica de los artículos seleccionados fueron presentado con su nivel de recomendación de acuerdo con el sistema GRADE.
