Relaciones jerárquicas de poder en la educación médica

RESUMEN
Antecedentes: Las jerarquías son una forma de organización que estratifica a los
individuos o grupos en función de la posesión jerárquica en un entorno determinado.
La educación médica es un contexto social sumamente organizado, en el que el trabajo
y el aprendizaje dependen de la interacción y, por tanto, están muy influidos por el
poder social y la jerarquía.
Objetivo: Otorgar un acercamiento cualitativo del concepto, la historia y los aspectos
implicados en las relaciones de poder de la educación en las residencias médicas.
Metodología: Estudio retrospectivo efectuado mediante una búsqueda no sistemática
de la bibliografía en las bases de datos de PubMed, Elsevier y Google Académico
sin restricción de tiempo, en español e inglés. Se seleccionaron los materiales gratuitos
y, a criterio de los autores para cumplir el objetivo, la combinación de términos fue:
“Hierarchical relations of power and medical education” “Relaciones jerárquicas de
poder y educación médica”.
Resultados: Se encontraron 23,000 escritos, de los que se eligieron sin criterios de
elección 19 que los autores consideraron pertinentes para su análisis.
Conclusiones: Es indispensable transitar de manera reflexiva a un concepto diferente
al que señalan como jerarquía y que esta “jerarquía” esté impregnada de valores
humanísticos, éticos y de buena habilidad de interacción social, posiblemente mejor
denominado “liderazgo”.
