Mujeres con riesgo de trastorno por atracón que van al gimnasio: esquemas maladaptativos, afrontamiento del estrés y trastornos emocionales

RESUMEN
El trastorno por atracón se caracteriza por un consumo excesivo de alimentos, que se acompaña de
una sensación de pérdida de control y ocurre al menos una vez por semana. Este estudio comparó los
esquemas maladaptativos, las estrategias de afrontamiento al estrés y dos trastornos emocionales en
dos grupos de mujeres que van al gimnasio (un grupo con riesgo de trastorno de atracón y un grupo
sin riesgo) y se analizaron cuáles variables eran predictoras del riesgo de trastorno de atracón en este
grupo de mujeres. Las variables incluidas como predictores explicaron el 55 % del riesgo de TPA: dos
esquemas maladaptativos, dos estrategias de afrontamiento, una medida de la obesidad, un antecedente
personal psicopatológico, un antecedente familiar psicopatológico y una medida de frecuencia
de asistencia al gimnasio. Se discute la importancia de estas variables en la génesis y mantenimiento
del trastorno por atracón.
