Las espondiloartropatías (SpA), constituyen un grupo de enfermedades y síndromes asociados al antígeno de histocompatibilidad clase I HLA-B27 que se caracterizan por la presencia de artritis y entesitis en las articulaciones vertebrales, sacroiliacas y periféricas, fundamentalmente las de los miembros inferiores.
Las entidades que constituyen este grupo son la espondilitis anquilosante (EA), las SpA indiferenciadas, las artritis reactivas (ARe), incluyendo al síndrome de Reiter y las artropatías enteropáticas.
