La importancia de las enfermedades reumáticas radica no sólo en la potencial incapacidad funcional, pérdidas laborales, elevado costo económico personal, familiar y social y progresión de los múltiples padecimientos crónicos, sino también por la elevada incidencia y prevalencia en la población general.
