Generalidades sobre la evaluación de competencias clínicas

RESUMEN
El concepto de competencia clínica varía ampliamente: y se le pueden dar atributos que van desde la exigencia para una certificación hasta postulados de orden filosófico. Esta situación hace difícil su evaluación, por lo que es necesario categorizarla y adaptarla a una situación dada y utilizar los instrumentos adecuados.
Por ser de uso más frecuente se presentan métodos de evaluación que valoran: la competencia clínica al lado del enfermo, la competencia clínica con el uso de exámenes objetivos estructurados, la competencia clínica con instrumentos que se utilizan para la certificación que se conoce como evaluación de la competencia profesional.
