El manejo del período peri-operatorio del paciente con dolor
crónico representa un verdadero problema. Por lo regular
el dolor postoperatorio en los pacientes “habituales” se
autolimita conforme sana el tejido lesionado. Este dolor
por lo regular lo controla el cirujano. En la gran mayoría de
las ocasiones, la analgesia postquirúrgica en los pacientes
con dolor crónico es mal manejada.
