Contraste miocárdico: alcances y limitaciones

RESUMEN
La ecocardiografía de contraste miocárdico es un método no-invasivo y prometedor en la valoración de la perfusión miocárdica. Inicialmente la administración del medio de contraste era intracoronaria y actualmente los medios de contraste de segunda generación contienen microburbujas que cruzan la barrera pulmonar después de la inyección intravenosa. La sensibilidad, especificidad y precisión diagnóstica del contraste miocárdico es comparable a los estudios de medicina nuclear. La ecocardiografía de contraste es actualmente la técnica más precisa en la valoración del tratamiento de reperfusión miocárdica a nivel microvascular, en especial el fenómeno de no-reflujo después de un infarto agudo del miocardio.
