SARS-COV-2: la piel y sus anexos a un año del inicio de la pandemia

RESUMEN
La pandemia por el nuevo betacoronavirus comenzó el 11 de
marzo de 2020. Este virus es capaz de afectar al sistema respiratorio,
digestivo, neurológico, hepático, cardiaco y cutáneo. En
relación con la afección mucotegumentaria se han reportado
múltiples casos clínicos en piel, uñas, mucosa oral y genital, así
como en el pelo y la piel cabelluda en adultos y pacientes pediátricos.
Se revisó la evidencia publicada de las manifestaciones en
la piel y anexos relacionadas con la infección por SARS-COV-2 en
la base de datos PubMed. En esta revisión se plantean nuevos
conceptos en comparación con publicaciones previas, como las
múltiples hipótesis de afectación vasculocutánea, los hallazgos
histopatológicos reportados, daño de anexos cutáneos, pruebas
de diagnóstico, tratamiento y las secuelas cutáneas. El estudio
de la piel ha sido un protagonista esencial durante la observación
de las manifestaciones clínicas de la infección por SARSCOV-
2, por lo que conocer la literatura publicada alrededor del
mundo es de vital importancia en nuestra práctica médica para
identificar marcadores cutáneos potenciales de diagnóstico o
que se presenten durante la evolución de la enfermedad.
El objetivo principal es revisar las publicaciones internacionales
de las alteraciones de la piel y anexos relacionadas con
la infección por SARS-COV-2 a un año de su declaración como
pandemia, con el fin de aumentar el umbral de sospecha de
infección y poder referir al paciente de manera temprana para
la atención médica profesional.
