Potenciales secuelas en la salud por Covid-19 en México: ¿Qué debemos de esperar?

RESUMEN
A casi un año del inicio de la pandemia por COVID-19 aún existen muchas interrogantes en materia de salud que
desconocemos. A partir de lo observado en brotes epidémicos previos por diferentes coronavirus y lo publicado hasta la
fecha con relación al SARS-CoV2. Se han identificado diferentes secuelas secundarias a COVID-19 que afectan a la salud física
y mental tanto a mediano como a largo plazo en un porcentaje significativo de los sobrevivientes. Debido a que las secuelas
se asocian a comorbilidades y características socioeconómicas de importante prevalencia en México, se podría esperar una
mayor frecuencia de estas complicaciones en comparación con otros países. Es necesario que el sistema de salud nacional
genere estrategias dirigidas a las complicaciones secundarias a COVID-19.
